“Mom, I want to try to go into the arts.” “Alright. Your choice, but you’re not very good at drawing, you know.” Ouch. My mother’s such an inspiration sometimes. My biggest aspiration in life is to create something that she’ll like. On an unrelated note, I think the reason why I like our new art teacher so much is because she’s very reminiscent of my...

drawing an elderly.
That’s right. I forgot to write about this, distracted as I was with preparing for visit from our Ottawa UBF friends. Last Thursday, I drew a man on the subway.  On the way back home from an English field trip (a play starring Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night) I sat beside an elderly man on the subway. It was the Yonge-Finch line. The man couldn’t have been more than 60, or maybe he...

coffeecarafe asked: THANK YOU FOR THE TIPS. c:
The boric acid powder seems like the best solution. But, gosh. It's like planning (and watching) a mass murder: "...so that the ants will carry the poisoned food back to the queen, effectively removing the entire colony."

And and, I meant to ask - how do you overlay your textures for your sketches?

So guess who figured out they were a huge mecha/action fan? What is this I don’t even. Two years ago I hated the genre with a passion. Now I’m all geared up for the summer with Dai-Guard and Transformers Animated. And maybe a rewatch of Medabots. Ugh okay back to ISUs.

Finally finished updating Harkbus-Tech. This blogging-every-step-of-the-way is pretty hard stuff. I have to wonder how tutorial-makers do it. It’s an agonizingly slow process. (Or maybe I’m a slow child, but I like to ignore thoughts like that.) Now onto Harkbus-Arts! EDIT: And finished Harkbus-Arts for now. My fingers are cramping, but at least  I’ll only have to copy-paste...

In an earlier post, I said that I’d be making a lot of posts about the CyberARTS Independent Study Units. Eventually I decided that posting them in this blog would make browsing confusing and just make the entire process difficult to cope with.  So I’m calling off the whole thing. No, I kid. I made two new blogs instead: Visual Arts ISU - http://harkbus-arts.tumblr.com/ Communication...

a preview of the month.
CyberARTS Grade 11 is in full swing, and we’ve just entered ISU (Independent Study Unit) season. Expect to see a lot of posts about these soon: 1. Communications Technology ISU - a short video made in Adobe Aftereffects and Photoshop, combining small segments animation and fade transitions of stills. 2. Visual Arts ISU - a series of three gas masks made with and only with cardboard. (And...

Time is 3:02 am, and I am in the midst of making thumbnails for my Art Independent Study Unit (I’ll upload the concept/thumbnails/process for it here as an archive a little later, when things aren’t so busy.) I finished my Art History booklet this morning (it was due second period, and I missed first period to get the booklet done.) but I got a solid five hours of sleep yesterday, so I...

I am now strategically planning out which days are the best to skip school to finish Art History by Thursday. Monday has the Art ISU Proposal and a Chemistry Test, not to mention it’s the Film due date. Wednesday probably will have the ComTech ISU 2nd Proposal. Thursday is the due date for the Art History. Friday (past the Art History due date) is when the Art ISU Rough-Final Proposal is...

coffeecarafe asked: OH MY GOODNESS, I GOT SHIVERS FROM THIS: http://harkbus.tumblr.com/post/1643072384/stillborn

Might I suggest at the end, "in the back of her mind" instead of "at the back of her head?" Otherwise, this is INCREDIBLE.
