Motorcity Ep.2: Powertrip
Haha, aw you guys. I jumped on the Motorcity bandwagon last week and I love its Gurren Lagaan/Redline/Trava/Dead Leaves vibe. Chuck, why are you so adorable, come here let me pinch your widdle cheeks. Mike you come here too and bring Mutt while you’re at it.
Also, let me just recommend all of these similar vibe animus because they a) their animation is similarly toned, b) they’re just plain fun. And by recommend, I mean “show awesome pictures of them because I’m a lazy arse and can’t write for butt.”
Gurren Lagaan
This one’s so famous, I’ll be surprised if everyone hasn’t watched it.

Redline
No, not Andy Cheng’s lackluster Hollywood production, but Takeshi Koike’s fast-paced cars, cars, cars theatrical masterpiece. The animation is stunning.

Trava
This is a strange one - either you like it or you don’t. The art style is eclectic (though if you’re familiar with this genre, it won’t be a surprise) and the simple story may turn people off, but it’s entertaining overall.

Dead Leaves
I have so many feels about this show. The setup is this: two vigilantes wake up in a city with no memories. One is a TV-head. Any more would be a spoiler, though this movie is so loopy that you’re not sure where the plot begins and ends. Oh, a warning before you watch: turn off your brain.

On a side note, how are there so many quality shows being aired this year? Motorcity, Transformers Prime, Green Lantern, Legend of Korra, and the upcoming Tron: Uprising. Who said you could have too much of a good thing?
